Is this functional? Can sims use it?

The moment I added the fence for the loft, my roof over my porch appeared within the lofted room. Is there a way to fix this? It only appears when I switch the wall to the fence.

Thank you, I tried to build my own house game up because the camera made no sense, and I just downloaded my third-best choice, only to struggle while redecorating everything and wondering why I couldn't put certain objects back once I picked them up. This explained everything.
